Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 24 chocolate kisses
  • 24 round chocolate wafer cookies
  • 1/2 cup chocolate frosting store-bought or homemade
  • Halloween sprinkles for decorating

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and milk.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls, flatten slightly, and place on prepared sheet.
  6. Bake 9–11 minutes. Cool completely on wire rack.
  7. Spread a little frosting on each cookie, press a chocolate wafer on top.
  8. Dab frosting on the bottom of a chocolate kiss and press into wafer center.
  9. Pipe colored frosting around the base of each kiss and add sprinkles.

Notes

Decorate just before serving for best presentation. Store decorated cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temp or 1 week in the fridge.
