Ingredients
  

Strawberry Cake Batter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs large
  • 0.75 cup strawberry puree
  • 0.5 cup milk
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
  2. Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla, and strawberry puree.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk.
  6. Bake until set and cool completely.
  7. Prepare cream cheese frosting and assemble cake.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for best flavor and natural color.
