Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 36 Hershey’s Kisses unwrapped

  • Baking sheet

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg, vanilla, and red food coloring. Mix until incorporated.
  4. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually combine with wet ingredients.
  5. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  6. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  7. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for vibrant red. Slightly underbaked centers ensure soft cookies.
