Homemade Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.33 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp salt
Strawberry Cinnamon Filling
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter softened
Strawberry Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp strawberry puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk as needed

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and a little sugar in a bowl. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in butter, eggs, sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic, then let rise until doubled in size.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly over dough and top with chopped strawberries.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
  7. Arrange rolls in greased baking dish and allow to rise again until puffy.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Beat glaze ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  10. Spread glaze over warm rolls and serve fresh.

Notes

Pat strawberries dry before using to prevent excess moisture in the rolls.
