Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts or thighs boneless, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar optional
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Pat chicken dry and toss with cornstarch until lightly coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, honey, water, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat with sauce. Cook 1–2 minutes more to allow glaze to adhere.
  6. Transfer to serving plate. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over rice or vegetables.

Notes

Adjust sweetness or spice to taste. For extra crispiness, dredge chicken in flour before cornstarch.
