- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually mix in flour, baking powder, and salt to form a dough.
- Add orange food coloring and knead until the dough is evenly tinted.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out pumpkin shapes using the cookie cutter.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely before piping Jack-o'-Lantern faces with black royal icing. 🎃
