Ingredients
  

Meat Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1.5 cups frozen mixed vegetables
Topping
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes prepared
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 0.25 cup milk or cream

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook onion and garlic in olive oil until softened.
  3. Brown ground meat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, seasonings, broth, and vegetables. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Transfer mixture to baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake uncovered until bubbling and lightly golden.
