- Preheat oven to 225°F (110°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and continue beating.
- Gradually add sugar while beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.
- Mix in vanilla extract, then gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Pipe or spoon meringue onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 90 minutes until dry and crisp.
- Turn off oven and let cookies cool inside completely.
