Ingredients
  

Donuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • for frying oil
Matcha Cream Filling
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste white chocolate drizzle

Method
 

  1. Mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Whisk wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, and egg. Combine with dry ingredients until smooth.
  3. Cook donuts: fry in 350°F oil for 2–3 minutes per side or bake in greased molds at 375°F for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  4. Whip matcha cream: combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, matcha powder, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fill cooled donuts with matcha cream using a piping bag. Dust or drizzle toppings as desired.

Notes

Fill donuts just before serving. Store donuts at room temperature for 1 day; cream in fridge up to 2 days.
