Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 4-5 lbs beef brisket
Dry Rub
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
Liquid
  • 1 cup beef broth

Equipment

  • Roasting pan
  • Aluminum foil
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Oven thermometer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Place brisket in a roasting pan.
  2. Mix all dry rub ingredients and rub generously over brisket.
  3. Add beef broth to the pan and cover tightly with foil.
  4. Roast in the oven for 4–5 hours until brisket is fork-tender.
  5. Remove foil and let brisket rest for 20–30 minutes.
  6. Slice against the grain and serve with pan juices or BBQ sauce.

Notes

Brisket can be made ahead and reheated slowly. For extra flavor, marinate overnight in the dry rub.
