Ingredients
  

Shortbread Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Salted Caramel
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Topping
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then mix in vanilla, flour, and salt.
  3. Press dough into pan and bake 18–20 minutes.
  4. Cook butter, sugar, and condensed milk into caramel.
  5. Pour caramel over cooled base and let set.
  6. Melt chocolate and spread over caramel.
  7. Sprinkle sea salt and allow to set before slicing.

Notes
