Cake Batter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs large
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter until fluffy, then gradually beat in sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each.
  5. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts.
  6. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk until batter is smooth.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 70–80 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with berries, whipped cream, or citrus glaze.
