Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
Assembly
  • 12 taco shells
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes diced
  • 0.5 cup sour cream

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Cook onion and garlic in a skillet with oil until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Arrange taco shells on baking sheet and fill with beef mixture.
  6. Top with shredded cheese and bake 10–12 minutes until melted.
  7. Remove from oven and add fresh toppings before serving.

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
