  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sugar optional
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar optional

Method
 

  1. Combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet. Sear beef in batches for 2 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Remove beef and stir-fry bell peppers and onions for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Return beef to pan, add oyster sauce, broth, and optional sugar or vinegar. Stir well.
  6. Simmer sauce 1–2 minutes until thickened. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.

Notes

For extra depth, add a splash of sesame oil at the end before serving.
