Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are golden.
- Sprinkle extra crushed candy cane on top while warm and cool on a wire rack.
