Ingredients
  

Dumplings
  • 30 dumpling wrappers
  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup napa cabbage finely chopped
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.33 cup water for steaming

Method
 

  1. Mix pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch.
  2. Place one teaspoon filling in dumpling wrapper.
  3. Moisten wrapper edges and fold into pleated dumpling.
  4. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place dumplings flat side down and cook until golden brown.
  6. Add water and cover pan to steam dumplings.
  7. Cook until filling is done and water evaporates.
  8. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Freeze uncooked dumplings for up to 3 months. Cook from frozen by adding extra steaming time.
