Ingredients
  

Steak
  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic smashed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet
  • Tongs
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Bring steak to room temperature.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat skillet and sear steak 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Add butter, garlic, and herbs, then baste.
  5. Cook to desired doneness.
  6. Rest for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Slice against the grain.
  8. Serve on platter with juices.
