Ingredients
  

Cheesesteak
  • 1.5 lb ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or flat-top pan
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Slice steak thinly against the grain.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook onions until soft and lightly caramelized.
  4. Add steak, season, and cook quickly until browned.
  5. Top with cheese and let melt.
  6. Fill rolls with cheesesteak mixture and serve hot.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately while hot and melty.
