Method
- Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into crumbles until browned.
- Add butter and stir until melted into the sausage.
- Sprinkle flour over the sausage and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Slowly pour in milk while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add salt, black pepper, and optional seasonings.
- Simmer 3–4 minutes until gravy thickens. Adjust consistency as desired.
- Serve hot over biscuits.
Notes
If gravy thickens too much, add a splash of extra milk when reheating.
