Cookie Batter
  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly cracked
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground sausage in a skillet, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. Add butter and stir until melted.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour and stir to form a roux.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  6. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  7. Serve warm over biscuits.

Notes

Adjust thickness with more milk as needed.
