  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cut into bite-sized sticks or cubes
  • 8-10 slices prosciutto cut in half lengthwise
  • fresh basil leaves
  • toothpicks
  • balsamic glaze optional, for drizzling

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpicks

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking, or prepare a platter if serving fresh.
  2. Take one piece of mozzarella and a basil leaf, then wrap tightly with a half slice of prosciutto. Secure with a toothpick.
  3. Repeat with remaining mozzarella and prosciutto.
  4. If baking, place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 5–7 minutes until prosciutto is slightly crispy and cheese is warm.
  5. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
  6. Serve immediately, either warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a fresh option, skip baking and serve chilled. Can also add a tiny dab of fig jam for a sweet-savory combination.
