Ingredients

Grapes
  • 2 lbs seedless grapes washed and dried
Candy Coating
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 6 packets flavored gelatin assorted colors

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Saucepan
  • Candy thermometer
  • Skewers or toothpicks

Method

  1. Wash and dry grapes thoroughly, then insert skewers into each grape.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat until dissolved.
  3. Boil mixture until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Divide syrup into bowls and mix in gelatin powders.
  5. Dip grapes into candy coating and swirl to cover.
  6. Dip into ice water briefly to harden shell.
  7. Place on parchment paper and allow to set before serving.

Notes

Work quickly when dipping as candy hardens fast. Best enjoyed fresh.
