Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Add egg, egg yolk, milk, vanilla, and red coloring. Mix well.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips.
- Roll dough, cut heart shapes, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake 10–12 minutes. Cool completely.
- Prepare filling if desired and assemble cookies.
Notes
Chill dough for 30 minutes for best shape retention. Store in airtight container up to 4 days.
