Ingredients
  

Pasta Skillet
  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 12 oz short pasta penne or rotini
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes canned
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add sausage and brown, breaking it apart.
  2. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic.
  3. Add pasta, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, and seasonings. Stir well.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until sauce thickens.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

If sauce thickens too much, add a splash of broth.
