Ingredients
  

Leeks
  • 3 large leeks white and light green parts only
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced, optional
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional

  • Large skillet

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Add cleaned, sliced leeks and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook gently for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and lightly golden.
  4. Add garlic during the last 2 minutes if using.
  5. Finish with lemon juice, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.

Notes

Cook leeks slowly over low heat to bring out their natural sweetness without browning too quickly.
