Ingredients
  

Tuna Melt
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 0.33 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 celery rib minced
  • 2 tbsp red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 6-8 slices bread thick cut
  • 2 tbsp butter softened, optional
  • parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If desired, lightly butter the bread slices on one side.
  3. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, onion, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Arrange bread slices on the sheet pan and spread tuna mixture evenly.
  5. Top each with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
  7. Broil 1–2 minutes for extra browning if desired.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Drain tuna well for a firmer melt. Use sourdough for the best texture.
