- Combine blackberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Simmer for 5–7 minutes until berries soften and release juices.
- Stir in lemon juice.
- Whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
- Pour slurry into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
- Cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Strain sauce if desired for a smoother texture.
Notes
For a thinner sauce, reduce the cornstarch slightly. For extra smooth texture, blend before straining.
