Method
- Pat chicken dry and place into slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and pepper.
- Pour sauce over chicken and mix to coat evenly.
- Cover and cook on low 5–6 hours or high 2.5–3 hours until tender.
- Remove chicken and thicken sauce with cornstarch slurry if desired.
- Return chicken to sauce and coat well before serving.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve warm.
Notes
For richer flavor, add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce or sesame oil.
