Ingredients
  

Steak Chili
  • 2 lbs steak, cubed sirloin or chuck
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Brown cubed steak in olive oil until lightly seared.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic until softened; transfer to slow cooker.
  3. Add beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and broth.
  4. Stir in spices, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Mix well and cook on LOW 7–8 hours or HIGH 4–5 hours.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.

Notes

Steak chili thickens as it cools; add broth to thin as needed.
