Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk sugars into the chocolate mixture until glossy.
- Add egg and vanilla, whisking until thickened.
- Fold in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For fudgier brownies, remove from oven while center is slightly underbaked.
