Ingredients
  

Apples
  • 4 large apples peeled, cored, sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • fresh parsley or mint for garnish

Method
 

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into 1/4-inch slices.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sliced apples and cook 5–7 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; stir to coat and cook 5–7 more minutes until apples are soft and caramelized.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, garnish with fresh parsley or mint, and serve warm.

Notes

Delicious as a side dish or dessert. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
