Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 0.5 cup pink sanding sugar

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
  2. Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, milk, and food coloring.
  5. Mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into balls and coat with sanding sugar.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes and cool.

Notes

Do not overbake for soft texture. Use gel coloring for best results.
