  • 6 buttery croissants torn into pieces
  • 2 cups mixed berries
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Arrange croissant pieces and berries evenly in the dish.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  4. Pour custard over croissants and let soak briefly.
  5. Bake until golden, puffed, and set.
