Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup whole milk warm
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • for frying vegetable oil
Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in eggs, butter, vanilla, salt, and flour to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let rise until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out and cut donut shapes.
  6. Let rise again until puffy.
  7. Fry at 350°F until golden brown.
  8. Dip warm donuts in glaze and allow to set.

Best enjoyed fresh the same day. Maintain oil temperature for perfect texture.
