Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mash bananas and mix in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Add optional chocolate chips or walnuts.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and moisture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
