Ingredients
  

Peach Filling
  • 8 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Cobbler Topping
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.25 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Mix peaches, sugars, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Spread peach mixture into baking dish.
  5. Pour melted butter evenly over peaches.
  6. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Add milk and vanilla and stir until smooth.
  8. Pour batter over peaches without stirring.
  9. Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  10. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Fresh peaches provide the best flavor, but frozen or canned peaches can also be used. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
