Method
- Combine flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water until dough forms. Chill 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss apple slices with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.
- Roll dough into 12-inch circle on floured surface. Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Arrange apples in center, leaving 2-inch border. Dot with butter.
- Fold dough edges over apples, pleating as needed. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sugar.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until crust is golden and apples are tender. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Brush warm galette with apricot jam for a glossy finish. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
