Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Sticky Glaze
  • 0.33 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
Assembly
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter for toasting
  • pickles optional
  • lettuce leaves

Method
 

  1. Combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Make glaze by simmering ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, vinegar, garlic, and paprika until thick.
  3. Cook patties in a hot skillet or grill pan for 3–4 minutes per side.
  4. Brush glaze onto patties during the final minute of cooking.
  5. Top each patty with cheddar cheese and allow it to melt.
  6. Toast brioche buns with butter until golden.
  7. Assemble burgers with lettuce, glazed patty, pickles, onions, and extra glaze.

Notes

Best served immediately while hot and sticky. Glaze can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
