Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 carrots peeled and sliced
  • 2 potatoes diced
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 15 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme dried
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 tbsp flour optional, for thickening
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrots. Cook 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and diced tomatoes. Cook 1 minute to deepen flavor.
  4. Add beef broth, potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 30–40 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  6. For a thicker stew, mix flour with water and stir in during the last 10 minutes.
  7. Remove bay leaf, taste, and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
