Ingredients
  

Tilapia
  • 4 tilapia fillets fresh or thawed
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour for light dredging
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Piccata Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice fresh
  • 2 tbsp capers drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • lemon slices for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Citrus juicer

Method
 

  1. Pat tilapia fillets dry to remove excess moisture.
  2. Mix flour, salt, and pepper, then lightly coat fillets.
  3. Heat olive oil in skillet and pan-sear tilapia until golden and cooked through.
  4. Remove fish and prepare sauce in the same pan.
  5. Sauté garlic in butter, then add broth and lemon juice.
  6. Stir in capers and lemon zest and simmer briefly.
  7. Return tilapia to pan, spoon sauce over, and finish with parsley and lemon slices.

Notes

Best served immediately for optimal texture and flavor.
