Ingredients
  

Mascarpone Cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.33 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur optional
Coffee Layer
  • 1 cup strong brewed espresso cooled
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur or rum optional
Cookie Layer
  • 12 ladyfinger cookies broken into pieces
Topping
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup dark chocolate shavings
  • 8 coffee beans optional garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Shot glasses or mini dessert cups
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Sieve for cocoa powder

Method
 

  1. Brew espresso and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture until fluffy.
  5. Quickly dip ladyfinger pieces into espresso mixture.
  6. Layer soaked cookies and mascarpone cream inside shot glasses.
  7. Repeat layers until glasses are full.
  8. Dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.
  9. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, chill overnight before serving.
