Ingredients
  

Hot Dogs & Buns
  • 8 all-beef or pork hot dogs
  • 8 soft hot dog buns
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
Bacon & Cheese
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
BBQ Glaze
  • 0.5 cup barbecue sauce your favorite
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
Optional Garnish
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • to taste pickled jalapeños or diced onions

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Grill or oven

Method
 

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Bake bacon on parchment-lined sheet 12–15 minutes until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Mix BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
  4. Brush hot dogs with melted butter and grill 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Split buns, brush with butter, and toast 1–2 minutes on the grill.
  6. Place hot dogs in buns, top with bacon and shredded cheddar.
  7. Melt cheese on the grill for 1–2 minutes or under a broiler.
  8. Drizzle BBQ glaze over each dog and garnish as desired.
  9. Serve immediately with favorite sides.

Notes

Try different cheeses or add pickled toppings for variety.
