Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cake Base
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup hot water
Strawberry Mousse
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp gelatin
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
Ganache
  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • 0.5 cup cream

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients, then wet ingredients and combine.
  3. Bake cake and cool completely.
  4. Prepare strawberry puree and gelatin mixture.
  5. Fold into whipped cream to make mousse.
  6. Layer mousse over cake and chill.
  7. Prepare ganache and pour on top.
  8. Chill, garnish, and serve.

Notes

Chill overnight for best texture and flavor.
