Ingredients
  

Blackberry Filling
  • 5 cups fresh blackberries
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Crumb Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and place a baking sheet on the lower rack.
  2. Prepare pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie dish. Chill while preparing filling.
  3. In a large bowl combine blackberries, sugars, cornstarch, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Pour the blackberry mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Mix flour, sugars, cinnamon, and salt for the crumb topping.
  6. Stir in melted butter until crumbs form.
  7. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over the berry filling.
  8. Bake for 45–50 minutes until topping is golden and filling bubbles.
  9. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let pie cool fully so the filling thickens properly.
