Ingredients

  • 12-15 pretzels twists or rods
  • 12 oz white candy melts or white chocolate
  • 2-3 oz red candy melts or strawberry sauce for 'blood'
  • candy eyeballs for decoration
  • Halloween sprinkles orange, black, purple

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spoon
  • Small bowl for red candy melts

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt white candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
  3. Dip each pretzel fully in the melted white chocolate and place on the prepared parchment.
  4. Melt red candy melts or prepare strawberry sauce for the 'blood' effect.
  5. Drizzle or splatter the red coating over the white-coated pretzels for a spooky blood effect.
  6. Immediately add candy eyeballs and Halloween sprinkles while the coating is still wet.
  7. Let pretzels set at room temperature or in the fridge until firm (about 10-15 minutes).
  8. Serve as a creepy-cute Halloween snack or package in cellophane bags for treats.

Notes

Work in small batches to prevent candy melts from hardening too quickly. For extra spooky effect, make uneven 'blood' splatters and streaks. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5-7 days.
