Ingredients
  

Candy Coating
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 tsp white gel food coloring
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 6 apples medium, Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 6 lollipop sticks or wooden skewers
  • edible white glitter or pearl dust for decoration

Method
 

  1. Wash apples in hot water to remove wax and dry completely. Insert sticks.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil without stirring until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in white food coloring and vanilla.
  5. Dip apples one at a time, twirling to coat evenly.
  6. Dust with edible glitter before the coating hardens.
  7. Let set on parchment for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Avoid humidity when making candy apples to prevent stickiness. Use tart apples for balance.
