Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh okra trimmed
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. Wash and trim the okra, removing stems but keeping pods intact.
  2. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, salt, sugar, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve salt and sugar.
  3. Pack okra tightly into clean jars. Pour hot brine over okra, leaving ½ inch headspace.
  4. Seal jars with lids and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before enjoying for best flavor.
  5. Enjoy as a tangy snack, appetizer, or cocktail garnish! 🥒🌶️

Notes

Pickled okra can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes. Perfect for snacking or adding a zesty touch to sandwiches and charcuterie boards.
